Bird photography is a natural extension of a birding hobby. There’s something magical about capturing a bird in the moment so you can return to the image after you’ve got home.
Bird photography takes the photographer into a variety of habitats and locations. You don’t usually have to travel far to find something of interest however. In my bird photography I try to capture something of the essence of the bird, whether that’s behaviour or its interaction with the habitat in which it lives.
Bird photography does present numerous technical challenges — but that’s partly what make it so much fun to do.
