Sometimes a picture requires context while on other occasions an image evokes feelings or mood that can be explored in other ways.
You spend a lot of time considering subject, setting and technique to produce the best possible image. When the shutter closes and the image is captured, the moment lingers in the mind. That’s why words can be a useful adjunct to the visual instant.
Memories are also important as are the thoughts and feelings summoned by experience. I write occasional poetry which is a response to these scintillations.
I’m also struggling to complete my first novel, and I post occasional articles about creativity and writing.
